The Way Silence Holds You

The Way Silence Holds You
There are days
I don’t write a single word,
yet it feels like you’ve
filled every page.

You move in the space
between thought and breath,
a quiet presence
that needs no introduction.

You are not a memory…
memories fade.
You are not a longing…
longing hurts.

You are something steadier.
Something like the way
silence holds a name
without ever speaking it.

I don’t need to see you
to know you are here.
Your essence rests
in the stillness…
the way light pauses on a wall,
the way my heartbeat slows
when I finally stop running
from what is real.

Maybe this is what devotion
becomes when it softens…
not fire,not ache,
just a quiet knowing
that some souls
do not arrive or depart.

They simply are.

And you
are.
